My Chemical Romance-Vampire Money 中文試翻&背景&小心得

先簡單說一下我跟My Chemical Romance無緣(?)的故事...
我認識他們的第一首歌是Sing 那時候聽了覺得曲風跟自己以往聽的不一樣 很新鮮
MV的故事也讓我很好奇 當時就去找了其他熱門歌曲來聽
記得聽到Helena時心中好激動 旋律一直在耳朵裡轉

但是 我就只有聽一陣子而已...
之後因為一頭栽入視覺系音樂裡 這團被我放到腦海深處...(跪)
後來我一直想要回憶起來當初聽的Helena和The Black Parade 但總是抓不到關鍵字
只記得有個團的歌很好聽啊....
直到前陣子我突然閃過chemical這個單字 簡直像被雷打到 記憶都回來了
無奈的是他們2013年解散了 很錯愕
現在只能把音源拿出來不斷播放 看看網路上的影片彌補

這次翻的Vampire Money收錄在Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys裡面
(跟Sing是同一張...再感嘆一次...)
其實我一開始沒有要翻這首的意思 但是看了英文WIKI和團員對專輯的介紹覺得很好笑
先來看歌詞和我的個人翻譯吧~

The final track, "Vampire Money", was a reaction to the band being asked to do a song for the Twilight franchise.
最後一首音源"Vampire Money"是因應電影暮光之城的行銷請求所作的歌曲。

[My Chemical Romance reveal secrets new album]
My Chem wrote this hard-charging rocker – with a riff reminiscent of Elvis Costello’s “Pump It Up” – after turning down offers to contribute a song to theTwilight soundtrack series. “We just kept saying ‘No, no, no,” says Toro. “Gerard wrote those lyrics to the song as if to say, ‘If you want a song for the movie this is what’s it’s going to be.'” The phrase “vampire money” came when we were doing an interview and the guy asked us if we were going to get some of that “vampire money” that everybody wants. So that’s what the song’s about. I think songs for soundtracks can be cool but we don’t really buy into the movie. We don’t personally enjoy it but that’s not to say it’s bad.”
MCR在拒絕為暮光之城原聲帶系列提供歌曲後，寫了這首厚重的搖滾曲，重複的曲調讓人聯想到Elvis Costello的Pump It Up。
Toro說:「我們一直跟他們說不要。Gerard寫下這些詞之後就像在說：『如果你真想要一首為電影而作的歌，那它就會長這樣。』vampire money這個詞是源於我們在進行訪談時，那個人問我們是否會因應大眾要求賺取一些吸血鬼財(按：因為吸血鬼題材滿受歡迎的，能賺進大把鈔票)。我覺得為原聲帶作曲是很酷啦，但我們真的不會買那部電影。我們自認不是很喜歡，但不是在說它很差的意思。」

Gerard Way said that the reason the song was on the album was because "there’s a lot of people chasing that fucking money. ‘Twilight?’ A lot of people around us were like, ‘please, for the love of God, do this fucking movie.’ But we’d moved on."
Gerard Way表示，這首歌會在專輯裡是因為很多人追求那該死的錢財。「拜託，為了上帝的愛，用這個電影吧!」我們身邊一堆人像這樣要求著。但我們還是按自己的步調走了。

小心得：

這是我第一次翻譯有髒話的歌詞XD 不過說起來是當語助詞處理啦 我就沒有每個都翻了

說真的 我很喜歡聽Gerard在live上飆fuck 怎麼會這麼悅耳~~

個人覺得整首歌詞其實滿沒組織的哈哈 就是戲謔的感覺

(有個困擾是Play the game and take the band real far這句 我自己不確定這樣翻對不對)

的確是很多人會因潮流趨勢而跟風 賺一些所謂的吸血鬼財、穿越時空財...etc

錢是真的滿重要啦 但硬要自己去順應大眾 久了也會身心俱疲吧 

另外發現這首歌名拿去google圖片會有很可愛的圖  

是前奏intro的漫畫版 一看到馬上笑出來

這次翻譯就告一段落了 最近有空大概都會試翻MCR的歌吧
我們就等看看2019他們會不會換成Killjoys回來吧QQ
