今非昔比：Kodaline-Talk 中文試翻

今天要來分享愛爾蘭都柏林樂團-Kodaline

之所以認識他們 要回溯到2017年我翻譯MCR的The Light Behind Your Eyes時期

TLBYE曲風是效仿Pink Floyd的High Hopes 於是我跑去Youtube找這首歌來聽

在頁面上又有一首同為High Hopes的歌曲 基於好奇我就點開影片 沒想到一發不可收拾(?)

看了街頭演唱系列後更是無法自拔 從那之後我的常駐歌單就被Kodaline占了好大一部份

Talk收錄於2013年的In a Perfect World 對我來說是首餘韻非常強勁的歌
當時正值低潮期 通勤都會選這張專輯來聽 所以歌詞是我在公車上翻譯的

註釋：

1. 歌名看似是想和對方談天說地，但歌詞說明兩人已各奔東西，實際上是無從談起了。
2. 我的第一版翻譯是將這句翻成「我們曾為同路人」，不過少了點遺憾與惆悵的感覺。相愛的兩人對未來通常有美好的憧憬，彼此有共識所以才能延續下去；分手則像是遇到岔路，目的地不再相同，因此只能分道揚鑣，至於過去那些願望就不可能實現了。在英文裡可以用come to the end of the road來表示兩人情緣已盡，所以我選擇換成現在的翻法。
3. 這句直翻為「我心中曾存在一群為你呼喊姓名的群眾」，其實就是指「我愛你愛到忘不了你」，運用轉化修辭將情感化成具象。
4. 有個片語是get your wires crossed，是誤會、誤解的意思。wire的原意是電線、線路，電線交錯混雜在一起，就像是人與人之間不同的想法、價值觀等，糾纏在一起就容易產生紛爭，而且難以解開。

歌詞情境採用回憶敘事法，過去相愛時的種種與現今分手後的感受相互交替著，後段帶出主角心中還是有點在意對方的近況，但也明白兩人確實不可能了，回憶就讓它過去吧。

這首堪稱是和平分手的最佳代表了，感情就是如此的奇妙，能走多遠彼此都不曉得，如同旅行，或許原本有一致的目的地，但途中一方因其他規劃而必須辭別，儘管感到可惜，那也不代表旅途不同就不會再相遇，所以只要祝福對方一路順風就好了。
